(Cleveland)-  | Truett McConnell University (34-14 overall; 19-5 AAC), led by head coach Jenni Sheppard, was recently named the number one seed in the 2018 Appalachian Athletic Conference Softball Tournament for the first time in program history. The tournament is an eight-team, double elimination tournament, which will run from April 25-28. All games will be played at Brickyard Park in Kingsport, TN. The Lady Bears enter the Appalachian Athletic Conference Softball Tournament holding a 12-game conference win streak.

The Lady Bears will open tournament play against number eight seed Montreat College (16-29 overall; 11-13 AAC), on Wednesday, April 25th, at 1 p.m. EST. The Lady Bears won all three matchups against Montreat College this season. On Feburary 17th, Truett McConnell shutout Montreat in a tournament in Thomasville, GA, 4-0. On April 19th, Truett McConnell swept the two-game series against Montreat College by scores of 12-4 and 11-8.

If the Lady Bears win on Wednesday, they will matchup against the winner of #4 Reinhardt University (27-23 overall; 17-7 AAC) and #5 Milligan College (22-17 overall; 15-9 AAC) on Thursday, April 26th, at 3 p.m. EST. If the Lady Bears lose on Wednesday, they will play the loser of Reinhardt University and Milligan College on Thursday, April 26th, at 11 a.m. EST.
