(CLEVELAND) – The 2019 Appalachian Athletic Conference Softball Regular Season Back-To-Back Champions, the No. 16 Truett McConnell University softball team, is set for the AAC tournament that will take place at the Brickyard Ball Fields in Kingsport, Tenn., Wednesday, April 24 – Saturday, April 27.

The league announced the bracket on Friday with No. 1-seeded TMU (41-7, 24-2 AAC) facing No. 8 Bryan College (20-26, 13-13 AAC) on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. The Lady Bears swept the Lions in the regular season back in March (8-2, 4-1). The tournament is an eight-team, double-elimination tournament with the championship games on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.

“The girls have played extremely well this regular season,” Head Coach Jenni Shepard said. “Winning a regular season championship is difficult, but back-to-back is extremely difficult. I am proud of our accomplishments so far this season and can’t wait to see what all we accomplish during the AAC tournament and the NAIA opening round.”

Additionally, the Lady Bears have posted back-to-back 40 win seasons alongside earning back-to-back bids to nationals. The opening round will take place May 13 – 15 while the tournament will be May 23 – 29 in Springfield, Mo.
