MONTREAT, N.C. – The Truett McConnell University women’s basketball team traveled to Montreat College for an Appalachian Athletic Conference contest on Wednesday night. The Lady Bears ultimately fell in regulation (57-51) to the Cavaliers falling to 4-16, 3-14 AAC on the year while Montreat improved to 9-11, 8-9 AAC.

Last time they met, the Cavs defeated TMU 73-54.

SECOND QUARTER DOOMS TMU

The Lady Bears led by three points twice in the first 10 minutes of the game but eventually lost the first quarter by a single point (16-17). However, it was ultimately the second quarter that proved to be the difference in the end. Montreat held TMU to just six points and scored 14 themselves to lead by nine at the half (22-31).

Identical to the first quarter, the Lady Bears were only outscored by one in the third (16-17) but it was the final 10 minutes of the game that TMU won. Trailing by as little as four, the Lady Bears outscored the Cavaliers 13-9 but it wasn’t enough to take home the win.
