ELGIN, S.C. – Megan Sabol sits in a tie for fourth individually as the University of North Georgia women’s golf team is in fifth place at the Newberry Fall Invitational after Monday’s first round at The Members Club at Woodcreek. The Nighthawks shot a 323 in the opening round.

Sabol’s first-round score of 76 is two strokes behind Wingate’s Laura Nunez Rodriguez for the individual lead. Jordyn Simsis in 16th place after an 81 Monday.

Florida Southern (308) and Wingate (312) are in first and second place. North Georgia sits two strokes back of Lincoln Memorial for third and one back of Anderson for fourth.

The final round will be tomorrow and will serve as the conclusion of the fall season for UNG.
