Roberta Wise Gilstrap, age 89, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on January 13, 2024. She was born on April 11, 1934, in Dahlonega to the late Willy Wise and the late Elizabeth Hampton Wise.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband George Riley “Clifford” Gilstrap; children Linda Gilstrap and Harold Gilstrap; and siblings Lula Belle Wise, S.L. Wise, and E.W. Wise.
She is survived by her son Gerald Gilstrap; grandchildren Jamie (Melanie) Gilstrap, Johnny (Ericka) Gilstrap, Justin Gilstrap, and Angie Gilstrap; great-grandchildren Kerrie Gilstrap, John David Gilstrap, Hunter Gilstrap, J.J. Gilstrap, Katherine Gilstrap, Kayla Williams, and Zac Williams.
Roberta had a passion for gardening and could often be found tending to her beautiful garden. She also enjoyed quilting and playing the piano. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family, especially helping to raise her grandchildren. She was also known for her love of animals, caring for her cats and dogs with the same tenderness she showed to her family.
In accordance with Roberta’s wishes, she will be cremated. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM. A memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. Roberta will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Lyman Caldwell officiating.
