(UNDATED) – Georgia Forestry Commission crews conducted what they call  a prescribed fire Wednesday  that resulted in lots of smoke, some of that flowed into White County  as well as in Hall, Banks and Habersham counties.  

A news release from the commission states. “The prescribed burn is being conducted by trained practitioners to reduce hazardous forest fire fuels and improve wildlife habitat. ”  Wednesday’s burn includes two fires, one off of Highway 52 and one off of Glade Farm Road, both in Hall County, according to Jamie Alfriend of James I. Alfriend Consulting Foresters of Thomson. 

Those fires and another control burn in the northern part of White County resulted in several calls to local officials and here at WRWH.
