Phillip Richardson, age 79, of Cornelia, Georgia, formerly of Snellville, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
Mr. Richardson was born on September25, 1944, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Lawrence and Bernice Martin Richardson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Richardson.
Raised in Tucker, Philip led a life of integrity, service, and compassion. He served his country with honor in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, demonstrating bravery and commitment to his nation. Following his military service, Philip embarked on a distinguished career as a home builder, dedicating over four decades to crafting homes of outstanding quality. Phillip enjoyed fishing and was an avid collector, but his greatest joy was his family. Known for his positive attitude and genuine concern for others, Phillip was a man of integrity, honor, and duty. He never spoke ill of others, forgave all who harmed him, and left everyone he encountered with laughter.
Phillip will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Of the many titles he held throughout his life, the one he most cherished was “Grandpa”. We find comfort in the words of scripture that encapsulate his life: John 1 5: 1 3 – “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
