(Cleveland)- The White County Board of Education has approved a tentative  budget for next year that will include a one time pay raise for all school system employees of  2.5  percent.  The board last night discussed last minute items for the budget and following the recommendation from Superintendent Dr. Jeff Wilson unanimously approved the budget that calls for  $53-point 7 million dollars in expenditures.

Superintendent  Wilson said they continue to deal with tax dollars lost from the senior exemption and that along with some increase operating cost will require a  ½ mill increase in school system tax millage.

According to Wilson even with the millage increase they will be  a shortfall in the budget of  $145,000 that they will have to find ways to make it work.

Board of Education Chair Kendyl Brock Hunter said, the proposed budget will be advertised and public hearings will be held prior to the final approval by the board.
