(Cleveland)- There was a light drizzle falling and the crowd was small but the enthusiasm was high as county and city officials held the lighting of the Christmas trees at Freedom Park in downtown Cleveland Monday night. White County Commissioner Terry Goodger said they want this to become a holiday tradition, “ we hope this will be an annual event, will possibly in the future have it on a special day all the time, like the first Monday after Thanksgiving,” said Goodger.
Cleveland Mayor Don Stanley and Mayor elect Shan Ash were on hand for the ceremony and both said they look forward to future of this tradition in the city.
The lit tree added to the holiday look at freedom park along with light placed around the park perimeter.
