(DAHLONEGA) – Kaylee Sticker and Kendall Emener combined for 23 rebounds to lead the University of North Georgia women’s basketball team to a 56-46 Peach Belt Conference victory on Saturday afternoon at Lynn Cottrell Arena at the UNG Convocation Center.

The Nighthawks (13-7, 6-4 Peach Belt) had three players score in double figures, led by Emily Trushel, who had 18 points and six rebounds. Isabel Davenport tacked on 12 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and two steals and Emener chipped in as well with a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

After jumping out to an 8-4 advantage, North Georgia went on a 10-0 run with 3:10 left in the first quarter, culminating in a three from Davenport, to increase its lead to 18-4, a score that would hold for the rest of the period.

North Georgia kept its first quarter lead intact before going on a 5-0 run starting at the 54 seconds mark in the second period to increase its lead to 32-19, a score that would hold until halftime.

The Nighthawks used a 9-0 run, punctuated by a basket from Trushel, to expand its lead further to 46-27 with 2:28 to go in the third. North Georgia kept its lead intact before going on a 5-0 run, finished off by Emener’s layup, to grow the lead to 55-34 with 4:59 to go in the contest.

Sharale McCormack scored a team best 14 points on 6-of-21 shooting for Flagler (9-11, 4-6 Peach Belt).

North Georgia hits the road on Wednesday (Feb. 7) to face Georgia College & State University at 5:30 p.m. in Milledgeville.
