DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia pitching staff did not allow a single run Saturday as they swept Saturday’s games in The Cottrell Foundation Loyal Blue Classic at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium.

GAME ONE – UNG 4, Southern Wesleyan 0
UNG wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as they used a Kaylee Womack sacrifice fly to score Kaylyn Anthony in the top of the first. Womack earned a second RBI by scoring Anthony in the third on a groundout that doubled the Nighthawk lead.

After Hobby Gregory scored on a throwing error in the third, UNG scored the final run of the game in the fourth on a Cheyanne Mosteller single that plated Olivia Sinquefield.

GAME TWO – UNG 8, McKendree 0 (5 inn.)
Again, the Nighthawks put up the first run of the game in the opening inning as Katie Collins singled to center to score Gregory. UNG scored twice in the second on back-to-back RBI doubles from Shelby Hammontree and Sinquefield to push the lead to 3-0.

North Georgia ended the game in the fifth, starting with a two-RBI single from Anthony, followed by Collins crossing the plate on an error. Kali Turner finished the game off with a two-RBI single to center, causing the run-rule to go into effect.

NOTES
– Laken Chambers (3-1) and Kylee Smith (6-0) earned the wins for UNG. Chambers gave up just one hit to the Warriors across five innings of action, while Smith struck out 11 while giving up just one hit and two walks.

– Gregory went 3-for-4 on the day, including 2-for-2 in the SWU game.
