SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. (Feb. 19, 2019) – The No. 16 Truett McConnell University men’s golf team traveled to the Georgetown College Invitational and finished runner-up of eight teams with a total score of 603. Appalachian Athletic Conference foe No. 10 Point University took the win while host Georgetown followed in third.

Juniors Dawson Day and Matt Smith led the way tied in sixth place individually overall. Day carded a 73 over the first 18 holes and a 75 over the second 18 (148). Smith shot a 71, 77 (148).

Freshman Jhett Lewis followed tied in 19th shooting a 79, 75 (154). One stroke behind was senior David Ford in 23rd (155). Junior Luke Peavy also competed for TMU finishing in 37th (159).

Up next, the No. 16 Bears will be back on the road for the USCB Sand Shark Classic on Monday, March 4 – Tuesday, March 5.
