(WEST POINT) – The No. 14 Truett McConnell University men’s golf team finished day one at the Point Skyhawk Invitational in runner-up with a total score of 294, just three strokes behind Appalachian Athletic Conference foe No. 8 Point University in first place.
Junior Dawson Day led the way in fourth place individually after carding a 70. Fellow junior Matt Smith followed directly behind tied in fifth (71). Freshman Jhett Lewis sits tied in 15th (75), freshman Jackson Boone sits tied for 33rd (77) while junior Luke Peavy is tied in 39th (78).
Day two of the tournament will take place Tuesday.
