(DAHLONEGA) – The No. 11 University of North Georgia women’s tennis team was utterly dominant in a 7-0 shutout victory of Lincoln Memorial Monday at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park.

Not only did the Nighthawks secure the doubles points and all six singles points against the Railsplitters, but of the 14 sets in total that were played in the match, UNG won 13 of them.

The No. 18 nationally ranked senior duo of Johanna Lippert and Viktorie Wojcikova coasted to a 6-1 victory in the #1 doubles contest.

The Nighthawks’ other ranked combination of No. 22 senior Svetlana Teterina and junior Angelina Linnikova quickly sealed the doubles point moments later with a 6-2 win.

In the singles, senior Valentina Ascarrunz made quick work of LMU freshman Lucie Palud to the tune of a 6-1, 6-1 win.

Linnikova, ranked as the No. 5 singles player in the nation by the International Tennis Association, defeated her opponent with a pair of easy 6-1 wins in both sets.
