Mrs. Sue Peck, age 67, of Dahlonega, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021.

Sue was born in Lumpkin County on May 2, 1954, to the late Sam and Dorothy Abercrombie Brown. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Larry Peck and brother-in-law Mitchell Rider. Sue was a devoted wife to Larry. She lived a fulfilling life as a wife, mother, sister, and friend.  Sue loved family dinners and listening to music.  Known as “Nanny Sue” to her grandchildren and most everyone, Sue will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving, kind, loyal and caring person.  Even after having a stroke at age 41, her love continued to be felt among her family and friends. Sue was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Rodney and Cathryn Carney of Dahlonega; grandchildren CJ and Erica Carney, Albert Carney, Angel Twyford, Nevaeh Winman, and Jaden Hollabaugh; great-grandchildren Riley Carney, Miles Carney, Logan Taylor, Wesley Green, and Allen Twyford; brother Clarence (Donnas) Brown; sisters Lynda Rider, Brenda (L.D.) Chester, and Shirley (Roger) Ward; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Memorial services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Sunday, August 15, 2021, at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Sandy Reece will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the service hour Sunday at the funeral home.
