Mr. Grady Cantrell, age 80, of Dahlonega passed away Friday, February 26, 2021.
Grady was born in White County on April 27, 1940, to the late Floyd and Dorothy Roberts Cantrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Roy Cantrell and his sister-in-law Eulene Cantrell. Grady was a man of faith. He deeply loved his church, Bethlehem Baptist. When his health allowed, Grady served in many areas of ministry one of which was dear to his heart, picking up children with the church van. The van ministry included Grady, Charlie Jones, and one mint green van that these men drove all through the community making sure children could get to church on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Grady worked and retired with Fieldale Corporation as manager of one of the hatcheries. He loved to take trips with his family in the motorhome. Camping and keeping his cars and home clean were other hobbies he enjoyed. Above all was his love for his family. Grady worked hard to provide for them and he displayed an unwavering faith in Christ as an example for them to live by. He will be deeply missed.

Jane: I pray that the Lord will give you comfort and peace during this time of Grady’s passing. I know the last several years have been really hard on your whole family. It was an honor to work for him as his assistant manager at the Stephens County Hatchery in Eastanollee. He took so much pride in the work he did and the cleanliness of his hatchery. His pride instilled that pride in all of his employees. They all respected him and were proud to work for him. There wasn’t a job in the facility that he couldn’t do — and he did it better than anyone else. He always set the example by being a good employee himself. Fieldale has missed him ever since his retirement. I’ve especially missed him. He sure taught me a lot. I’ll be praying for your whole family during this difficult transition. God bless you all.
