ASHEVILLE, N.C. | The Truett McConnell men’s soccer team has been picked by the conference coaches to finish sixth in the Appalachian Athletic Conference in 2016 as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Union got eight first place votes to earn the preseason No. 1, while Bryan got the other two first place nods. Reinhardt, Tennessee Wesleyan and St. Andrews were voted to complete the top five.

TMU and head coach Rob Miller are coming off of a 10-6-3 record a year ago, which culminated in the program’s first AAC semifinal appearance.

The season opens in eight days as the Bears host Georgia Military at the TMU Soccer Complex. Kickoff is at 5 p.m. in Cleveland.
