Melvin Earnest Dunn, age 64 of Dahlonega Georgia passed away on April 28 2022 following a brief illness. Mr. Dunn was a long-time resident of Lumpkin county. Mr. Dunn was a self-employed carpenter that enjoyed fishing, hunting, and prospecting for gold. He was a member of the Weekend Gold Miners Club. Mr. Dunn was an outdoorsman and loved to be surrounded by nature. He will be deeply missed and remembered for many great things, but mostly remembered for wearing his bright-colored orange hat or toboggan that seemed to become a part of his identity.
Mr. Dunn is preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Evelyn (Davis) Dunn and his nephew T.J. Dunn.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Brenda (Poore) Dunn; sons Bryan Wilson and Brandon Dunn; brothers Andy (Terena) Dunn and Tony (Jenny) Dunn; grandchildren Matthew Wilson and Kaleb Wilson, nieces and nephew Becky, McKayla, and Kevin.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 4 pm. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until service time that day.
