(OAKWOOD)– The Truett McConnell University women’s cross country team ran to a fifth place finish, of a deep competitive field of 14 teams, Saturday morning at the University of North Georgia Cross Country Invitational. Host North Georgia University won the invitational while SCAD Atlanta took runner-up.
 
The Lady Bears finished ahead of Appalachian Athletic Conference foes Breanu University and Reinhardt University.
 
TMU was individually led by the lone senior, Ivie Nobles, in the women’s 5K. Nobles finished 14th overall, of 102 individuals, with a time of 20:26.4. Freshman Savannah Campbell followed in 30th with a time of 21:50.5 while junior Haleigh Martin took 43rd with a time of 23:07.1. Ansley Cain finished 50th (23:15.9), Emma Tubre placed 63rd (24:55.6) and Morgan Davidson rounded out TMU’s results with an 83rd finish (27:15.8).
 
Up next, the Lady Bears will compete at the Mount Saint Mary Invitational in Milton, New York, on Saturday, Oct. 5.
