(Cleveland)- Another step has been taken in the effort to cut down on the possibility of the spread of the coronavirus, Enotah Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Raymond George Monday declared a judicial emergency as it relates to the virus and the potential infection of those who are required to appear for court.
Judge George’s declaration halts most court activities and relieves jurors from showing up for 30 days. No civil or nonessential matters shall be heard by the court during this 30 day period unless they can be conducted by video teleconferencing.
The order states that the court will make a determination of available alternative remedies for the conduct of court business, as necessary.
This order is in compliance with a statewide order by Chief Justice Harold D. Melton, Georgia Supreme Court on March 14th.
