James “Henry” Grizzle, age 80, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on March 3, 2024. He was born in Murrayville, Georgia, on June 21, 1943, to the late Carl Grizzle and the late Nelle Peck Grizzle. James, affectionately known as Henry, lived a life deeply rooted in love, family, and community.

In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nellie Noblet Grizzle, and seven siblings. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of many, yet his memory remains cherished by all who knew him.

Henry is survived by his children, Robin Grizzle of Dahlonega, Richie (Gina) Grizzle of Kingsport, Tennessee, Rusty (Shannon) Grizzle of Dawsonville, and Randy (Penny Allen) Grizzle of Demorest; grandchildren Jennifer Adair, Joshua (Katie) Adair, Catherine Adair, Brandon (Heather) McConell, Phillip (Courtney) Davis, Kayla (Curtis) Grizzle-Davis, Karlie (Ryan) Grizzle-Jones, Nate Grizzle, Caleb (Jennifer) Grizzle, Zachary Grizzle, Morgan Grizzle, Ridge Hobson and Rainlan Hobson. He was also blessed with 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, with another on the way.

Henry will be remembered by his extended family, including brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws: June Grizzle, Kathy Reeves, Chris Noblet, Elaine (Tom) Mims, Larry (Pat) Connor, Carolyn (Harold) Westbrook, Susan (Danny) Thomas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

A man of faith, Henry was an active member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church. His commitment to his community and church family was unwavering. Funeral services to honor Henry’s life will be held at the old church of Yellow Creek Baptist Church at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, with the Rev. Ricky Stone and the Rev. Shane Wehunt officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery of Yellow Creek Baptist Church, and will be officiated by Caleb Grizzle.

Visitation will be held at Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, providing an opportunity for friends and loved ones to pay their respects and share in the memories of a life well-lived.

Henry leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
