AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of North Georgia senior forward Jacy Ramey has been named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Ramey had a career week scoring the game-winning goal in both of UNG’s shutout victories over Clayton State and Armstrong State last week and she claimed her first career hat-trick against the Lakers on Wednesday.

The two victories secured a share of second place in the Peach Belt Conference marking the third consecutive second place finish in the league for North Georgia, a school record since UNG joined the PBC in 2005.

The Buford native scored her first career hat trick with three goals in North Georgia’s 5-0 win over Clayton State on Wednesday. Ramey followed that performance by scoring the only goal in the No. 19 Nighthawks biggest win of the season at Armstrong State on Sunday by heading in the game-winning goal off a corner kick in the 57th minute.

Ramey has now scored in five consecutive matches, the longest streak of her four-year career. She is tied for third in the PBC with 11 goals on the season and is also tied for fifth in points and tied for seventh in assists.

The Nighthawks start postseason play on Wednesday, Nov. 2, hosting sixth-seeded Flagler at 6 p.m., at the UNG Soccer Complex. The Nighthawks are looking to advance to the semifinals in Evans for the sixth time in the past seven years.
