(Gainesville)-  The Hall County Sheriff’s Office released information Tuesday about a wrong-way driver accident Sunday morning, on Highway 365, that resulted in the death of three people including a 23-year old woman from Cleveland.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said in a release that deputies and Hall County Fire Services personnel responded to the scene of the two-vehicle crash just south of Kubota Way around 12:10 a.m.

According to the initial investigation, 27-year old  Daney Nava of Lilburn was driving her car south on the northbound inside lane of GA 365 when she hit a 2015 Jeep Patriot Sport that was driving northbound. The Jeep flipped on its side and caught fire.

Both Nava and the driver of the Jeep, Kristen Nicole Mitchell, age 23, of Cleveland, died in the crash. An 8-year-old who was in Nava’s back seat also died.

After the crash, another vehicle struck debris in the roadway, but no one in that vehicle was injured.

In addition to deputies and emergency services, Georgia DOT crews responded and closed the northbound side of GA 365 for the preliminary investigation. The lanes were opened around 4:30 a.m.

Anyone with additional information on the crash is asked to contact Sgt. J. Morgan with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
