Family Promise

(Cleveland)- The Board of Trustees of Family Promise of White and Habersham counties has announced  it will be resuming its program of  hosting  homeless families in White County beginning June first.

A news release from the organization said, since suspending services in February 2015,  Family Promise has been following a plan leading to re-opening, including compiling a cash reserve, developing sustainable income sources, adding new board members, and hiring new staff to manage the non-profit and to deliver services to homeless families.

According to the release they have hired a Network Director and  Case Manager.   Martie-Jo Brooks of Cleveland has been hired as Network Director.  Her responsibilities will include overseeing the operations on a daily basis.

Julia L. Souther of Demorest has been hired as Case Manager.  Her responsibilities will include working directly with families applying for a place in the  Family Promise program and following up daily with those who are accepted into the program, as well as coordinating with host congregations.

The Board of Trustees was  assisted in the re-building process by the Family Promise national organization.

The non-profit amended its name in 2015 to include Habersham County, because some client families were originating there and because no such services exist there and one of their goals  is to  expand its operations in Habersham County.
