(Cleveland)- The information has been circulating on social media over the weekend, now Kathy and Merv Pilgrim have announced they have sold The Satellite Store building in Cleveland and the store is closing.
Since 1984 The Satellite Store in Cleveland has been a staple of the community. The Pilgrim family say over the next few weeks they will be clearing items from the store.
Merv Pilgrim says, “ It has been an amazing journey watching The Satellite Store evolve from installing the first available home satellite dishes, Cell phones and VCR’S, to selling appliances and VHS Movie Rental to franchising Radio Shack and offering the best rugs and bedding.” However he says, all great journeys must come to an end.
According to the Pilgrim’s the building was sold to investors who plan to redesign the building and open a new Dollar Tree store, which Kathy Pilgrim says, will be one of the largest in the area, it will be great for White County.
The Pilgrim’s say they have fond memories from the business where they have employed many members of the community, providing dozens of young high school students with that first job. Many of those went on to start their own successful companies.
Those fond memories are shared with the excitement of a well deserved retirement.
