Drug Bust 4-13-17

(Cleveland)-  Information released Thursday  says  a drug investigation involving the Habersham County Sheriff’s  Office and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) led to the arrest of Christopher Kinney of Clarkesville on Sunday.  

According to  Ken Howard, GBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge of ARDEO, the  arrest resulted from a traffic stop that was  conducted by the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office on a vehicle in which Kinney was a  passenger. During the traffic stop Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered a quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana, firearm and over $4000.00 in suspected drug money.  

Howard said, Christopher Kinney was arrested for warrants already outstanding for possession of  Methamphetamine and for parole violation. As a result of this investigation Kinney was charged  with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession  of a firearm by convicted felon and possession of a firearm during a crime. Kinney was transported to the Habersham County Detention Center.

The street value of all illegal drugs seized in this investigation are approximately $4670.00. This investigation was conducted by the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office in conjunction with the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division. The investigation continues.
