Carolyn Janell Carr, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020, following
a period of declining health.

A member of Christian Hill Baptist Church and a native of Newberry County, South
Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Edward Mark and Lula Crowe Jackson. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, son, Jack P.
Cope; brothers, L.B. Jackson and Wallace Jackson; sister, Norma Jean Toney.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Patton Carr; brother, Edwin Lewis Jackson
(Kathleen), Spartanburg, SC; sons, Billy Carr (Tami), Robbinsville, NC, Michael D. Carr
(Robin), GA; daughter, Angie Carr, Bryson City, NC; eight grandchildren and six great-
grandchildren; a favorite niece, Tracey Toney Camp, Spartanburg, SC.

Jan was a retired nurse and served in many capacities through out the years as Sunday
School teacher for children. She loved her church family and was a die-hard sports fan
and an avid reader.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 5, 2020 the Chapel of
Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Wayne Turk and the Rev. Jim Ellis will officiate. Burial
will follow in Christian Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Thursday, prior to the funeral
service, at Barrett Funeral Home.
