Bobby Nathaniel Faulkner, age 78, of Cornelia died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at

his residence.

Born in Gastonia, NC, on September 10, 1937, he was the son of Murphy and Grace

Williams Faulkner. He was an honorable husband for over 57 years!

Mr. Faulkner attended Lula High School and was elected for two senior class

superlatives in 1956, one of which was best dressed. Mr. Faulkner was very thankful

that he had all of his hair and not one grey hair in his head. Mr. Faulkner attended the

University of Georgia.

Mr. Faulkner had the honor of touching the lives of many young men and helping them

rehabilitate their life by teaching the young men the trade of body and fender at Lee

Arrendale State Prison. After 30 years of employment he retired in 1997. Mr. Faulkner

loved to buy cars that were total losses and repair the automobiles to show room

quality. In his later years in life, he began the loving art of restoring antique cars. His

last restoration was a 1950 Ford. His son-in-law, Michael Myers, helped him to finish

the restoration of this car just before his death. The 50 Ford was completed and

brought it to Mr. Faulkner’s window in order for him to see the car before his death.

Mr. Faulkner’s daughter’s were very proud and honored to call him Daddy. He would

keep his young daughters busy in the shop by having his daughters separate nuts and

bolts and then count them. As Sonya and Cynthia grew Mr. Faulkner taught them how

to remove dents and water sand, even though the girls never perfected removing their

own dents. Mr. Faulkner always made sure his daughters were provided with

everything they ever needed. Even though Daddy is no longer with us, he made sure

that he provided for the years we will spend without the presence of his physical body.

Papa is the name his grandchildren and great grandson called him. Papa was always

busy in the shop or the garden or maybe even remolding rental property. When the

grandchildren were younger one might find the boys working in the shop, garden, or

even tagging along to work on a house. His granddaughter was a little bit different as

she didn’t want to get that dirty or hot.

Mr. Faulkner was preceded in death by his parents.
