(AUGUSTA) – University of North Georgia women’s golfer Maddie Ananthasane claimed her second Peach Belt Golfer of the Week honor in as many weeks Thursday as announced by the league office.

Ananthasane won her second straight tournament to open the fall season with a five-stroke victory at the DBU Women’s Classic September 20-21. In a field that featured nine top 25 teams, including the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 in the nation, the sophomore from Dacula, Georgia, fired rounds of 66, 71 and 72 to finish at 7-under 209, a UNG record. The 66 is tied for the second-lowest round in PBC history and the lowest this season.

Ananthasane is the only PBC golfer this season with a tournament victory and is currently second in the league in stroke average.

North Georgia is back in action October 11-12 when they host the LeeAnn Noble Memorial.
