(Cleveland)- Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals each year recognize outstanding middle schools throughout the state. The criteria used mirrors a national model for Breakthrough Schools. This year White County Middle school was selected as Breakout School!
The criteria the schools must meet and demonstrate through evidence are: collaborative leadership, personalization and curriculum, instruction and assessment. This year a total of seven Breakout Middle Schools were recognized.
The schools were invited to be part of the GASSP Fall Conference program to shared their success stories in a special conference session.
White County Middle School also received awards and honors as a distinguished level for offering quality evidence and supporting documentation in their application that confirmed a demonstrated commitment to meeting the needs of all students.
The school received an award to display in the building along with a $800 donation. The award was accepted by Principal Kristi Gerrells during the recent GASSP Fall Conference in Savannah.
