Sports – The possibility of a state basketball play-off spot for the varsity boys disappeared as the Chestatee War Eagles took the victory in double overtime last night.
After taking the floor White County took an early lead and was able to hold onto that lead throughout the first three periods of play. The War Eagles were able to mount a comeback in the fourth period and tie up the game in the last few minutes of play, 49 to 49.
In double overtime, the Warriors pulled ahead slightly only to have Chestatee come back once again, this time pulling ahead by only 2 points. Chestatee took the victory 74 to 72.
