CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Jack Howard hit a three pointer while being fouled and converted the four point play to spark a late run for the University of North Georgia men’s basketball team that pushed the Nighthawks past Lee, 77-74, Wednesday night.
After a back-and-forth first half saw UNG lead by one, Lee took as big as a six point lead midway through the fourth quarter before Howard nailed a three from the left wing and converted to tie the game at 61 with just over seven minutes to play. From there, North Georgia went on an 11-5 run to take a six point lead of their own with under two minutes to play, but the Flames didn’t go quietly, cutting the lead to as few as two and getting a look from deep to tie the game as time expired. NOTES – North Georgia pulled down 13 offensive boards and converted them into 13 second chance points. – The Nighthawks are now 3-1 in Paul Dana Walker Arena and 4-1 against Lee all-time. NEXT UP |
