(ATLANTA) – The Truett McConnell University men’s and women’s track & field teams recorded additional personal bests while both 4 x 100m relay teams set new school records at the Emory Classic on Friday and Saturday.

The men’s 4x100m squad finished runner-up overall with a stellar time of 41.64. The team featured Hoy Thurman IVKeishon FranklinAmir Hightower and Keontrae Clayton. On the women’s side, the Lady Bears finished 11th overall with a time of 50.44 which featured Keishiana LatnerDasia StennettBrittany Linley and Esther Nakanwagi.

Additionally, the men’s 4x400m relay placed third with a time of 3:18.82 which featured Donald BonnerSharod CobbDonald Swinson and Franklin. The women’s 4x400m team (Nakanwagi, Haley ThompsonAmaya Elliott and Stennett) ran to a seventh place finish with a time of 4:10.29.

Individually, Cobb placed fourth in the men’s 400m hurdles with a time of 55.61 while Bonner took 12th with a time of 58.35.

Linley, in the women’s 100m dash, finished in seventh place with a time of 13.22 while Latner followed in 12th with a time of 13.37. Clayton, in the men’s 100m dash, also placed 12th with a time of 10.96 while Hightower took 15th (11.04).

Thurman also indivudally placed 12th in the men’s 200m dash with a time of 22.55.

In the field events, Bonner finished in fourth overall in the men’s triple jump with a mark of 13.96m. Bonner previously punched his ticket to nationals in this event. Kyle Stringer placed 14th in the men’s discus throw with a mark of 35.44m. Freshman Dillon Gooch took 16th in the men’s javelin with a mark of 39.61m. Fellow freshman Karis Harbin, on the women’s side, placed 15th in the women’s javelin with a mark of 27.49m.
