(Cleveland)- The White County Board of Commissioners had their first face to face interviews Tuesday with candidates seeking to replace County Manager Mike Melton. Melton, who has been with the county since 2012, has announced he would be retiring at the end of April of this year.

Commissioner Terry Goodger said the county received lots of good resumes from people wanting the job.

The commissioners spent most of Tuesday morning talking with three of those candidates.

Commission Chairman Travis Turner says the commissioners would like to get a new manager in place at least a month before Melton exits the office to provide for a good transition.
