Winnifred “Winnie” Lorene Gunn Herring Wade, age 91 of Alto, Georgia took her Heavenly flight home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 04, 2023.

Born in Demorest, Georgia on August 27, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Harrison & Violet Hicks Gunn. Winnie worked for Ethicon ( A Johnson & Johnson Family Company) for many years until her retirement. She was a faithful member of the Clarkesville Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilburn Herring, grandsons, Adam Herring, Phillip Herring; granddaughter, Brooke Gibson; brother, Russell Madison “Buddy” Gunn & by her sister, Zelma Brewster.

Survivors include her loving husband of 19 years, Arnold Wade of Alto, GA; sons & daughters-in-law, Keith & Shirley Herring of Toccoa, GA; Ty & Staci Herring of Commerce, GA; Brent & Megan Wade of Toccoa, GA; Jason & Laura Wade of Gillsville, GA; brother & sister-in-law, Rev. James & Mary Gunn of Royston, GA; sisters & brother-in-law, Frances & Terry Ward of Cornelia, GA; Hazel Louise Franklin of Woodstock, GA; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, & a host of friends.

A service to celebrate Winnie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Clarkesville Church of God with Rev. James Gunn & Rev. Tim Tanner officiating.
