(Cleveland)- A 13-year-old 8th grader is in juvenile custody after being arrested for making a threat against White County Middle School.
White County Sheriff Rick Kelley says authorities were made aware of the threat Monday evening. “Investigators with White County Sheriff’s Office immediately followed up on the information,” says Kelley in a press release.
Authorities charged the teen with two counts of disrupting the operation of a public school. The juvenile has been turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
The White County arrest was at least the third in Northeast Georgia made on Monday for school threats.
A North Habersham Middle School student was arrested and charged for posting a school threat on social media Monday.
Local law enforcement and school systems have been dealing with a rash of threats since the Apalachee High School shooting in Winder on September 4.
I think he should be charged with terroristic threats if we do not take a hold on these kids and show them this is not allowed it’s just going to keep continuing. Just a couple days prior he was inappropriately touching girls at the school and nothing was done to him for that that is just a big a threat of shooting up a school this young man needs a tough lesson.
