(Cleveland)- White County Schools are open today (9/30) for regular class schedules. White County High School officials remind students to bring their fully charged Chromebooks with you to Advisement today. It is important you get to Advisement in a timely manner so you can complete the task your Advisor has for you.
Hurricane Helene has impacted some of the school’s distributors and according to Abby Rowland, White County School Nutrition Director, that is causing some delays in deliveries. Rowland said some menu changes may be necessary this week. White County Schools are feeding all students at no cost this year.
Meanwhile, Habersham County Schools will remain closed Monday, Superintendent Matthew Cooper issued a statement Sunday that said, “The county public works director is very concerned about current conditions and has asked the school system to give them at least one more day to make sure roads are safe for school buses and student drivers.” Habersham County Public Works Director Jerry Baggett issued a statement saying, ‘If one more day of caution and verification saves one life, it’s worth it. Once we have a full day of daylight to evaluate and address any remaining safety issues, hopefully, things can get back to normal by Tuesday.”
