Dr. Jeff Wilson, White County School Superintendent
advises White County Schools will be closed tomorrow (Friday 2/27) due to the Weather/Travel Advisory for White County, stating that we will see temperatures getting well below freezing tonight and into tomorrow morning. Black ice will be a major problem. It will not get above freezing until after 10:00 am tomorrow.
Dr. Wilson said, “We just cannot put our students on the roads with these kind of conditions.”
Teachers, Administrators, 190 – day plus, 12-month employees should report at 10:00 am if conditions permit.
According to Dr. Wilson the Warrior Baseball game scheduled for Friday against Lumpkin County is still scheduled to be played. The Warriors and Indians will play at the home of the Gwinnett Braves Coolray Field. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on NewsTalk 1350 WRWH and online at wrwh.com. This game has been cancelled and rescheduled for Saturday, March 7th at 10:30AM at the Gwinnett Braves Coolray Field.
The scheduled White County Board Meeting for tonight (2/26) has been rescheduled until Monday, March 2 at 6:00 pm.
