(Cleveland)-White County has been recognized as a Broadband Ready Community.
Georgia Department of Community Affairs Representative Kathy Papa presented the recognition certificate to the White County Commissioners at their meeting on Monday.
Papa congratulated the county for taking steps to incorporate broadband in the county’s comprehensive plan. She said “ The Broadband Ready Community designation reflects that White County is committed to improving the reliability, speed, and capacity of internet connections for businesses, residents, and visitors to the county.”
White County Commission Chairman pointed out that this certification will be another marketing tool for the community,” broadband is just another utility, it’s just like water, sewage, and electricity. You have to have that in today’s world of competition when it comes to business and or people relocating,” said Turner.
Chairman Turner recognized the hard work that Community and Economic Development Director John Sell has contributed toward obtaining this designation.
