(Cleveland)- A White County Home was destroyed by fire Monday evening.
David Murphy, White County Public Safety Director said in an email White County Fire service with mutual aid from Cleveland City, and Lee Arrendale Fire Brigade were dispatched to 3389 Highway 129 south just before 7 PM to a residential fire.
Murphy said the first units on scene reported a 3,000 square foot house 70% involved in fire, with a 100-gallon propane tank that had vented and was burning as well.
Firefighters set up a defensive attack and remained on scene for approximately 6 hours, and despite the efforts of firefighters, the home was a total loss.
According to Murphy, no injuries were reported, and the fire is under investigation.
I was wondering if the propane tank was sitting to close to the house so when it blew up it set the house on fire.
