(Cleveland)- The April term of the White County Grand Jury reconvened this week at White County Courthouse in Cleveland. A total of 24 true bills of indictment were approved by the body on Tuesday.

The indictments include 46-year-old John Stanly Burton of Cleveland who was indicted on two counts of false imprisonment, criminal damage to property, battery, and simple battery along with cruelty to children, 3rd degree, and hindering emergency telephone call.  Burton was arrested on May 23 of this year by White County Sheriff’s Office.

Also, 33-year-old William Chase Ellis was indicted on eight counts of sexual exploitation of children. He was arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on August 25, 2023, during a statewide crackdown on child cybersex crimes. Ellis was among 26 suspects arrested in Operation Sneaky Peach by Local, state, and federal agents.

The indictments were presented in superior court on Wednesday, July 3rd.
