(Cleveland)- White County emergency personnel were called to assist a hiker who had fallen on the Appalachian Trail Saturday. 

Bryce Barrett, Public Information Officer for White County Public Safety said White County Dispatch received a call about an individual who experienced a fall near Hogpen Gap off  Richard Russel Scenic Highway. 

According to Barrett in a matter of minutes, fire personnel made contact with the individual who was fully alert and oriented.

The individual walked out of the trail with the assistance of fire and Emergency Medical Personnel.
