White County Public Safety Director David Murphy

(Cleveland)-White County Public Safety Director David Murphy advised Tuesday afternoon that the county’s Emergency Operations Center is operating under normal day-to-day status. The Emergency Management Agency Communications Center is actively monitoring all events and reporting them to the appropriate personnel who respond accordingly.

The Flash Flood Watch that was in effect earlier Tuesday has been canceled. According to the National Weather Service, a quarter to half an inch of additional rainfall is expected through Tuesday night.  Forecasters say while the flash flood threat has decreased, flooding of rivers, streams, and creeks will continue through the remainder of the week.

For the remainder of the week, the weather service says additional heavy rain on Wednesday night and Thursday will further increase flooding concerns across the area.
