(Cleveland) -The White County Board of Commissioners is now taking applications for the following board
appointments until Friday, May 27, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
White County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors: The appointee (1) must be able to attend
meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 8:00 a.m. at the Chamber Office, have expertise in
business, and be able to be involved with Chamber events. This appointment will be for a two-year term to
expire June 30, 2024.
White County CVB Board of Directors: The appointee (1) must be able to attend meetings on the third
Thursday of each month at 9:00 a.m. held at the CVB office and be an owner of a lodging property in the
County or the General Manager of a State Park. This appointment will be for a three-year term to expire June
30, 2025.
White County DFACS Board: The appointee (1) must be able to attend meetings at the White County DFACS
Office the second Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. This appointment will be for a five-year term to
expire June 30, 2027.
Georgia Mountains Regional Commission Council (GMRC) Private Sector Representative- The appointee
(1) must be able to attend monthly meetings on the last Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. These meetings are
held throughout the 12-county region. The GMRC serves the local governments of the Georgia Mountains
Region by improving the quality of life through economic development, community planning, information
technology, and workforce development to support and enhance the region’s prosperity. The Council is
responsible for establishing policy and direction to complete these regional objectives. This appointment is for a
one-year term to expire June 30, 2023.
White County Planning Commission: The appointees (2) must be able to attend meetings held at 6:00 p.m. at
the White County Senior Center on the first (regular meeting) and last (work session) Mondays of each month
and other meetings as may be required. The appointee must be able to make decisions based on existing
regulations and must be able to participate in the planning of future regulations affecting White County. This
appointment will be for a three-year term to expire June 30, 2025.
White County Water Authority Board: The appointees (2), one of whom must represent the Upper
Chattahoochee River Soil and Water conservation district, and one of whom must represent the general public
of White County, must attend meetings on the second Thursdays at 7:30 A.M. These are two-year terms and
will expire June 30, 2024.
