Local – A fire that occurred on Wednesday, April 29th, at a White County apartment complex resulted in no injuries, but has been ruled arson, according to a news release (today) on Friday from State of Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John King.

Fire Investigators have determined that the fire was set in an area between the bathroom and bedroom of the apartment, inside a hole busted in the drywall between. “The occupants of the 19-year-old, 1,200 square-foot apartment, were at home at the time the arson occurred, and no injuries were sustained and thankfully the fire only caused minor damages,” King said in the release.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help, and King stated, “If you have any information on the individual or individuals responsible, I ask that you call my Fire Investigations Unit at 800-282-5804.”  Rewards are offered of up to $10,000 for information that leads to arrest and conviction. Calls are taken 24 hours a day and callers can choose to remain anonymous.

The State Fire Investigations Unit, the City of Cleveland Fire Department, and the White County Sheriff’s Office are continuing the investigation.
