Sports – For the first time in 45 years, the White County Warriors went 4 and 0 last night with their victory over the Raiders 28 to 21.

All eyes were on this game, as both teams headed into battle undefeated, with the Warriors being the top-scoring team in Class 3A, and the Raiders sitting in third for 6A.

As the action started, it would be White County who would be the first to put points on the board after a big run from Silas Mulligan, setting up the hand-off from J Ben Haynes on the next play for a touchdown. This was quickly evened out by Habersham within the next 5 minutes after the Raiders claimed a touchdown of their own. The Warriors would pull ahead again before the end of the first quarter, however by the end of the second, Habersham would bring the score to a tie once again, ending the first half, 14 to 14.

The Raiders would quickly pull ahead at the start of the second half, but two more touchdowns by the Warriors, one of which included a 41-yard touchdown run by J Ben would give White County the advantage as the game was coming to an end.

The Warriors attempted to extend their lead to 10, but a missed field goal would leave the score final to be 28 to 21, Warriors.

Your Captain D’s players of the game last night were Zion McMullan on Defense and Jaquez Williams on Offense.

White County will be taking next week off before traveling to Dawson County to take on the Tigers on October 9th in the first round of Region play.
