(Mt. Airy)- The White County Warriors were on the road Friday night meeting the Habersham Central Raiders in high school football.

It was White County that got off to an early start taking the lead three minutes in, but it was short-lived as the Raiders answered twice before the end of the first quarter taking the lead, 14 to 7.  Then one more touchdown each would lead to an interception and a 42-yard return by the Warriors. But their efforts wouldn’t yield results and the Raiders would grab three more points before the end of the half with a score of 24 to 14 Habersham.

The second half started with an interception by Warrior Zach Godfrey, this time earning White County a touchdown, only to be negated by the Raiders a few plays later.  Quarter three ended with the Warriors still ten points down, 31 to 21.

In the final quarter, White County closed the gap with another touchdown by Noel Lammers, but it would turn out to not be enough to get ahead and the game would come to an end with Habersham ahead by three, 31 to 28.

The Captain D’s Players of the game were Noel Lammers and Zach Godfrey.  Next Friday the Warriors will be at home to take on East Jackson.
