(Monroe) The White County Warriors were back in action on Thursday night at Monroe Area after a six day break. With rain and thunderstorms in the forecast for Friday evening, the two teams moved up their contest a day early. And the Warriors looked like a well-rested bunch as they battered Monroe Area by a final of 23-9 in 6 innings. It was the most runs and hits by the Warriors this season.

White County scored in every inning and bashed out over 20 hits. Ethan Ramey continued his hot streak going 3 for 4 with 5 RBIs. In his last three games, Ramey is now 8 for 9 with a homer, 2 walks, and 10 RBIs. Tray Gearin led the Warriors with four hits, including a 3-run homer, his first of the season. Parker Applewhite had 3 RBIs and Stetson Gearing had 1 RBI, and each added three hits a piece. Joel Pritchett had two hits to go along with 4 RBI’s. Jason Ward, Chris Jackson, Season Kennedy, Trey Allen, Jacob Ingram, and John Henry Mullis all had base hits as the Warriors pounded away at five different Monroe Area pitchers.

The win moves the Warriors to 5-6 in region 8-AAAA play which a game and a half back of the 4th playoff spot. The Warriors will step out of region play on Saturday as they travel to St Pius X for a makeup double-header that was postponed earlier in the season.
