(Bremen) – It was the first round of GHSA playoffs Friday night and the Warriors made the two-and-a-half-hour trek to Haralson County to battle the Bremen Blue Devils. After a night of fumbles and turnovers for White County, the Warriors will have to try again next season.

After winning the coin toss, the Blue Devils chose to receive and Trent McPherson quickly scored their first touchdown, and would make that a pair of touchdowns before the end of the quarter.  The Warriors made good advances but were unable to get to the end zone. Breman would miss both of the extra point tries ending the first with the Blue Devils ahead 12 to 0.

The second quarter opened with a 70-yard touchdown drive by Ryan Fowler to finally put the Warriors on the board. Both teams then took turns fumbling the ball, turning over control, and the Blue Devils would capitalize on this and score two more times before the half. A field goal by Hayden Vandergrift would keep the Warriors in the game heading into halftime with a score of 19 to 10, Breman ahead at the half.

An interception in the third by John Scott would help boost the Warriors and help keep Bremen’s scoring down, however, the Devils were able to score one touchdown before heading into the fourth.

The fourth quarter would see the Devils score twice more pulling way ahead, and Warriors Senior Ryan Fowler would make the final score of the game with a 28-yard touchdown run, his final of his high school career to end the game, 17-40 Breman.
