Sports – The Warriors were in Dawson County yesterday to take part in the Regional Semi-Finals in High School Varsity Basketball.

The Lady Warriors were up first against the Wesleyan Wolves, and while it was the Warriors who placed the first points on the board just 20 seconds into the game, it would be downhill from there for the ladies. The Wolves would slowly put distance between the two teams, staying ahead all four periods. The Lady Warriors were down by 20 at the end of the third but played hard in the fourth closing the gap to just 8. It was too little, too late as Wesleyan would claim the victory with a final score of 61 to 53.

The boys were up next, taking on the Pickens Dragons. At the end of the first period it would be the Dragons ahead by one, a short-lived lead as by halftime the Warriors would lead by 12. The second half was where the action was as Pickens would fight back to bring the game to a tie at 42.  However Senior, Jaden Yeh’s, final shot with 3 seconds left would put the Warriors back on top

by 2. White County would keep the pressure on in the fourth and slowly increase their lead to take the win, 66 to 57 Warriors, as called by the WRWH Sports team, Drew Harris and Garrett Rowland…

The Regional Finals will take place on Saturday at Dawson County High School. The girl’s pre-game begins at 2:45 with tip-off at 3pm, and the boy’s championship pregame will begin around 7:15, with tip-off around 7:30pm. Catch the championship action on your home of the Warriors, WRWH 93.9fm.
